Hi, I'm Hema.
Marketing person by day, maker by evening, plant person always.

I run a small SEO and digital marketing studio, which means I spend my working hours helping other people get found online. I like the puzzle of it. But I learned early that if work is the only thing I make, I get restless — so the evenings and weekends belong to the studio, the plants, the dogs, and the road.
I started with painting as a kid, picked up digital art when I got an iPad, and fell into pottery two years ago after one wobbly class I meant to take exactly once. There’s now a corner of the flat that is permanently dusty and a shelf of bowls that are mostly usable.
The plants started with a single money plant and are now somewhere past two hundred. I live in Bangalore in a shared flat with two toy poodles, Cameo and Yuki, who are in most of my photos whether I plan it or not.
Why this site exists
Instagram is where I post, but it’s a terrible place to keep anything. This is where the longer versions live — the plant notes I keep re-answering in DMs, the studio pieces with the story behind them, the trips written up properly instead of as nine photos and a caption.
On the shopping
I love a good find and I get asked “where’s that from?” constantly, so there’s a Things I use page. Some of those links earn me a small commission. I only list things I’ve bought myself and actually kept, I say when something didn’t work out, and I’ll always tell you when something was gifted.
On balance
I log off at six most days. It took a few years to get there and I write about it now and then, mostly so I remember why.
